2nd October 2018 -  Tales from the Classroom

Anne Walker

Probus Club Biggar started their autumn programme on Tuesday being exposed to an era long forgotten by members- Primary School days. Our new President, Alastair Pate introduced Anne Walker, a teacher of 35 years experience who turned the clock back to her early teaching days. Using each letter of the alphabet in turn Anne illustrated an incident or story to great hilarity, Glaswegian dialect playing its part, even Buckfast got a mention! Regretfully time ran out so Anne still has another six letters of the alphabet up her sleeve to disclose little gems at the Chalk Face. A most entertaining meeting where the audience enjoyed listening as much as Anne did in relating . Next Club meeting is on 16th October, the subject “Stories of Courage- Carluke's VCs We expect everyone to be on parade!
