20th December 2011 - Ah! yes, I Remember it Well.

Rev. R. S. Blakey

At their 20th Dec meeting, the Rev RS Blakey delivered a delightful , interesting series of reminiscences covering his life as a parish minister, interspersed with memories of his family and student days in Glasgow. He shared his recollections of the those people who had influenced him most in his youth, particularly his home and supportive family, and while at university, the late Wm Barclay. Coming from a family who always enjoyed music, he had piano lessons from the age of six, and he still plays the piano most days. He finished by entertaining the club with some of his favourite pieces . His well deserved ovation was followed by a highly humorous question time. Robert Kirkhope gave the vote of thanks. The next meeting will be the Club's New Year Lunch when the speaker will be Stewart Houston on 'Tales from the Courts'.
