15th March 2022 - Bridgescapes Bruce Keith Following a
number of false starts, (thanks to Covid 19) Biggar Probus Club were finally
allowed to hold a meeting on the 15th
March with a very accommodating speaker, Bruce Keith, his subject “Bridgescapes”.
Just scratch the surface and the age, size, design, application and history of
every construction is awaiting you. Like many things in life they are taken for granted, until
they are not functioning. By definition bridges are needed in awkward places
which bring challenges to Designers and Builders alike. Building
materials have also adapted to the changing times, making many into “rather
large” works of Art. Bruce supported his humorous talk with many pictures of a
wide variety of beautiful structures all around us. The final meeting
of the season is 5th
April, and just to confirm we welcome Ladies as well as men to all our meetings.
